so, I've recently watched "perfect day" and it remembered me of a book I've read earlier this year, "el cielo de madrid" by julio llamazares, and they seem to have a similar vibe. I'd like suggestions of books in either English or Spanish about the simple things and the search for happiness (not self-help, I'm looking for a novel or something like that)

Try ”Illusions” by Richard Bach. Not sure if it’s exactly what you’re looking for, but it’s definitely in the ballpark.
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. It’s a novel about a guy who deals with the loss of his wife. It will make you laugh and cry at the same time. But most importantly, it touches on everyday struggles and challenges that normal people go through.
{{A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers}}

You are Here by David Nicholls. Two lonely people are thrown together on an epic hike and end up finding love in each other as their adventure becomes something transformative.
A newer novel that has become one of my favorites.
{{Stoner by John Williams}}, where the MMC goes through life (fairly casually) with ideas about what he wants. When he doesn’t reach those goals (which happens fairly often) he takes things in stride and moves on.
