Fairly big reader, read most of Hemingway’s works, likewise Evelyn Waugh and Fitzgerald. Are there any other more modern ‘society’ style books that elicit that feel of watching a group of friends in a moment in time?
The Sun Also Rises is hands down my favourite of these but I enjoyed A Moveable Feast, The Beautiful and Damned, Vile Bodies and The Good Soldier.
Ideally late 20th century/ early 21st as I think I’ve exhausted all the ones penned before 1950.
