There’s *Lord Of Light* by Roger Zelazny. SF rather than fantasy, rooted in the Hindu mythology, but also incorporating Buddhism.
Also *Song Of Kali* by Dan Simmons – though I think that book’s come to seem more problematic with time, especially given the political trajectory Simmons has gone on since.
