There seems to be such a huge gap between picture books and then the recommendations I see, like Charlotte's Web or The Phantom Tollbooth. These books still use a lot of complicated words, but picture books lack words and don't create a story that a child could read across several days.
Just looking for the easiest easiest text-book.
