I recently went down a Greek mythology road and read the works of Madeline Miller with Circe and Song of Achilles. Circe is easily one of my favorite books I’ve ever read now. I also just finished A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes. All absolutely wonderful. I’m wondering if there are other contemporary works similar to this in any different mythologies?

Jennifer Saint has three lovely books in this subgenre: “Ariadne,” “Elektra,” and “Atalanta.”
Margaret Atwood’s “The Penelopiad” is also excellent.
Claire North has a series from Penelope’s POV: “Ithaka” and “The House of Odysseus” are already out, with third book due in 2024.
