books where they aren’t necessarily lovers yet have an intimate/ close bond like the manga veil?

i recently read this manga called veiled by kotteri and there wasn't much story, it was moreover episodic, intimate snapshots of the two main characters who weren't necessarily lovers yet shared such a deep and intimate relationship and was wondering if anyone could recommend me books like that? where the two main characters aren't quite lovers or the lines are blurred yet there relationship is still quite intimate if that makes sense?! i just can't stop thinking about it. ugh!!!! so gorgeous and poignant i needdd!!!
