Hopefully this is something allowed here. Forgive me if it’s not.
This is going to be a bit of a longer ramble so please bear with me.
In August of 2022 my wife lost her job and then developed a debilitating disease that won’t allow her to work a normal job ever again. For awhile she was unable to even stand or walk, though now is thankfully back on her feet, if not at 100%. So as one does in such a situation, she started up a home business.
Now, this woman’s nose is a gift. If she eats eggs she can smell what the chicken laying the eggs was eating. If I ate onions one day she can smell them in me the next. She knows everything going on around her by its smell. Another gift is the speed at which she reads. Roughly 30 times faster than myself. Her appetite for books is voracious.
Combining these two talents, she had the idea to begin making perfumes based around books. Some relate to a particular character, a trope, or a scene or an overall vibe. The Red Queens rose garden or Hansel and Gretel. Some classic books and some modern. The unsung hero or just the coffee shop you go to read in.
I may be biased but I think she has a talent for this and over the holidays I’d like to see her and her business thrive. The last year has beaten us both down but I’d like to see her starting the new year with a fresh optimism for the future.
These perfumes are generally subtle smells and are not the overwhelming assaults on the senses that many mass produced scents seem to offer. If you’re curious you can go to https://www.thebibliosmiaist.com/ and show her products some love or find her on Instagram at “thebibliosmiaist”. Thank you to everyone who read this far and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season
