Hey friends! After fretting and stressing over my overflowing, over-stuffed bookshelves for awhile and also wondering how I was going to possibly decide which books to purge to create some room…I just got a new bookcase instead! Obviously. So now I have the somewhat daunting task of reorganizing and re-arranging all my books amongst two sets of bookshelves now. Endless possibilities, I know! Which is the cause of the daunting feeling I currently have. So while I procrastinate and overthink this task I find myself wondering how other folks arrange their shelves. By size? By genre? Alphabetically? By colour (ick)? Series in one spot and stand-alone a in another? No right or wrong answers here, friends, just wondering how everyone else prefers their books organized?

For read books: Genre-> Author by last name-> Alphabetically by title, unless it’s a series, than chronologically

For TBR books, alphabetically by author

I have a lot of books so this is the easiest way for me to find the books I’m looking for

    2. I have a decent size library and I’ve experimented with all sorts of different arrangements over the years. Aesthetically my favorite is by color in rainbow order (sorry you think that’s ick lol, it fits nicely with my decor style and I love how it looks), but it’s super impractical. I’ve also done alphabetical by author. The best I’ve used is by genre. I can find what I’m looking for quickly and if I don’t have anything specific in mind I can shop my shelves by mood.
