I'm learning German and need a German version of a middle school book to put my knowledge to the test. I haven't read a lot of books and the few I have read are high school and higher. I don't want to constantly stop after every sentence with a higher level book because my German is still not good enough to comprehend more advanced vocabulary.
While I think an elementary level book will give me somewhat of a challenge, I prefer a somewhat lengthy book of around 200-500 pages so I can learn the grammar better.

[Nevermoor: Fluch und Wunder](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/47f77810-82e8-479a-9f51-9e0d36303a4d) by Jessica Townsend! Nevermoor is my favorite series even as an adult, and my friend who’s currently trying to become fluent in German has actually been listening to the German audiobooks as a way to practice. We’ve been having weekly video calls where she tells me everything she understood and I fill in anything she missed 🙂
