Hey! I really need help with finding a new read.
I don’t want brutal gore. I want intense, soul crushing sadness👍 haven’t read a book like it, but I know that I just need it.
I honestly do not care about anything other than that, it can be gay, straight, fantasy, sci-fi, I do not care.
Just give me something that is brutally real when it comes to struggles and possibly unaliving oneself as well?

Strange Sally Diamond – it’s not gore but it’s about a pedophile.
The School for Good Mothers – about a mom who is sent away to mother school because she left her kid alone at home. Not as sad as the first one, but still very depressing.

You could try reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. This book felt very realistic to me. I felt immersed in the world and lives that were described and it made me feel profound sadness.
