Suggest me a book that realistically depicts the life of someone growing up in the problematic neighbourhoods or banlieus of either paris or favorably marseille.
I have watched some documentaries on the matter but feel like they are very one sided. I want to learn about the problems and feelings of people who are actually affected. What influences their decisions? What is life really like?
It doesn't matter if it is fiction or not, but it should be available in english as I am not really able to read in french.
