Finished the series last year and loved it. The character development and overall plot was amazing but I'm now looking for a book/series that has the same big, bad alien threat throughout. Finding out the secrets of the protomolecule and the beings within the ring gates ended up becoming my favourite part of the series.
I've tried reading Project Hail Mary recently but I bounced off the writing style almost instantly. I've also read all of the short stories that were made alongside The Expanse, too.
So anything with a massive alien threat, mystery and overall good plot development would be great.
