Or any media, really. I am looking for literature where people are warned that this horrible thing will happen if you keep going down this path, but they don't listen and shit hits the fan. The more global reaching the consequences the better. I want unhappy endings and dire realizations. I want global extermination because one idiot couldn't mind their own damn business. I want a book where any chance to turn things around sends people sprinting in the opposite direction. Anyone have any suggestions?
