I'm looking for something a la Michael Shaara's The Killer Angels. I'm cool with some twisting of historical fact in order to make a better narrative, but overall I'm looking for a historical fiction novel that uses as much historical fact as possible.
I'm aware of The Hunger by Alma Katsu but I'm not sure how it stacks up to what I'm looking for, so opinions on that would be welcome as well!
