I’m in a very deep sci-fi phase at the moment. I prefer space operas (can utilize some science) or hard sci-fi. An example of this is Project Hail Mary. The character uses real physics to discover where he is and what he’s doing. I also want some that don’t have a pretentious main character.
Some series/books I’ve already read:
- The Protectorate by Megan E. O’Keefe
- Dune by Frank Herbert
- Dark Matter/Recursion/Upgrade by Blake Crouch
- These Burning Stars by Bethany Jacobs
- Three Body Problem by Liu Cixin

Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds, but it’s not really new and the characters are not necessarily likable in every way.
