I'd like to read an easy to read book with good storytelling. I don't have the time/energy to put into reading a difficult book right now. When I say 'an easy to read book' I mean a book whose vocabulary won't have me looking up words every other page. Furthermore, I don't want to have to read too many complex sentences in every page of the book. For reference, I read 'Less than Zero' by Bret Easton Ellis and I'm trying to find a book that's as challenging as the latter but not with such Dark Themes.

Kids books. Or young adult books.
I’m not sure if you’re looking for a specific genre- but you could just browse the YA section of your local library (in person or online)? Typically that section will have pretty accessible vocabulary and prose.
