russian classic literature

i’ve just finished crime and punishment which i loved. i own the master and margarita and am starting it right away, per my grandmothers recommendation. i own anna karenina but it’s so long, i’m not sure when i’ll get to it. let me know your favourite classic russian books! i’m not going to read war and peace or the brothers karamazov anytime soon, they’re quite daunting. any shorter book recs?
