I read a lot of American authors and within the last few years I've been meaning to search out authors abroad and read the stories they write which brings me here instead.
Anyone have book recommendations (in English) from authors around the world? Cuba, Pakistan, Africa, etc.
I enjoy fiction as a means of exploration of what it means to be human and live. A recent favorite author is Amy Hempel, Ursula K LeGuin, Leslie Jamison, etc.
I'd like to come across things from different people and what they think about, how they view life, or what they imagine.
