This is for a book report and I'm just trying to have a wide range of options. It has to be at least 150 pages (I would prefer no more than 500, but that's debatable) It should be a secondary source, written sometime in the past 50 years or so.
So far I have had suggestions of "The Turning Points In Ancient History" series and "SPQR".
