First time mom looking for a book about babies, children, and parenting from a historical and/or anthropological perspective. I'm curious to learn more about how different cultures (past and present) have approached parenting and perhaps how modern western parenting developed from these different approaches (as applicable). I'd prefer if it's written for a mainstream audience and not too academic. Thanks in advance!
