Yukikaze by Chohei Kambiyashi is about a man and his relationship to his new possibly sentient fighter jet, who he considers an important friend.

Warning though, the jet doesn’t really speak or do “traditional” robot things. The book is heavily about what forms non human intelligence would take. The jet desires to do it’s job.

Clara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro

Playstation Wonderland by Alfie Bown – the last chapter has a really really interesting thing to say about Robots

      Autonomous by Analee Newetz

    3. *All Systems Red* by Martha Wells is the start of the “murderbot” series. Most all of the entries here are under 200 pages. Fast paced, funny, adventure stories with excellent lead character who is uncovering a sci-fi tinged conspiracy.

*Machinehood* is a future where humans use integrated AI assistants and body mods. As the line between what makes one human or machine is blurred, a terrorist organization called The Machinehood wants to fight to give these robot intelligences rights..
