Fiction books with immersive worldbuilding

I'm looking to really immerse myself in a new world. Some of my favourite fiction books/series: three body problem, hunger games, the will of the many, the fifth season, project hail mary.

I don't really like anything with magic, maybe some in the background but not too much.
