{The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer}
This is one of those books I try to read every year, and it legit changed how I do life. Art, love, marriage, death, travel, music, creating life and relationships… This book has it all. She does a TEDtalk on the topic, too, which is worth watching in addition to reading the book.
{A Mouthful of Air by Anthony Burgess}
Yes, *that* Anthony Burgess. This isn’t precisely a bio, but in it he describes his time teaching and makes significant points about educational systems that are still unfortunately accurate today. Witty and snarky writing that keeps you engaged the whole way through, even in the one chapter of technical stuff. Bonus: you’ll learn almost as much about linguistics as I did in my Ling101 class.
