Bit of a wager going here with a friend of mine. He’s on a high horse about “real literature” and hasn’t read any fantasy. Would love to give him something that packs a punch like No Country for Old Men or Blood Meridian that also appeals to his love for “pared down” prose. Open to any and all tropes, sub genres (high fantasy, low fantasy) , whatever. Thanks!
