I just finished Old Man's War and I loved it. I think I'd probably like far more books if they were written like Old Man's War. The pacing is just insane. No time for bullshit, just the essentials to get the beats and then it slows down in passages that matter. And I love that I don't need to retain an ocean of context in my memory.
I'd love to find other books like it. My preference is scifi but I like anything adventurou, ie. mystery, horror, apocalypse, …
