Hi everyone. What are some books that you would recommend that deal with themes of self-betrayal? I'm not talking about self-sabotage – I'm looking more for the fragmentation of self that occurs in moments when one has to confront themselves for doing something that is completely at odds with the values they thought they held. Even better if they keep doing it.
Any genre welcome, though I'm partial to literary fiction. Also nothing about/set during WWII, please.
