Hej,
Been wanting to start reading French lit, as it’s an area I’ve never really been interested in until recently. I’ve bought Journey to the end of the night by Louis-Ferdinand Céline, as I’ve heard his prose are great, but I don’t know where to go from there .
So, yeah, who are y’all’s favourite French authors + their books? Do you have any suggestions on what to start with as a foreigner whose only experience with French lit is The Little Prince?
All suggestions are appreciated 🙂
Thanks!

I’ve been enjoying 2022 Nobel Prize winner Annie Ernaux’s work immensely lately. She blends autobiography with sociology. A Woman’s Story and A Man’s Place, reflections of the death of her parents were powerful. I also liked A Simple Passion and A Young Man about love affairs she had.
