I really enjoyed 13 Reasons Why, especially the story from Clay’s perspective. I’m not much of a reader—more into movies and shows—but I’m trying to get into books to expand my vocabulary and explore more stories. Any recommendations for similar books, preferably with a male protagonist

If you want to explore some good, dark themes and are drawn to visual storytelling, I’d highly recommend Stephen King. His Mr. Mercedes series deals with some dark themes of suicide, murder, depression, and features younger characters, autistic characters, diverse characters…
I’m not sure about any Young Adult novels per se, but King has been in my life since I was a young adult and rarely disappoints.
