Edit:. Ok. well, fast wikipedia check and I think I get it now: I like allegorical books.

Hi! As in the title, I am looking for some suggestions of books that are, to put it shortly and without unecessary meddling, epiphanic.

Sure, that's not really much and obscure enough, so here's a list of books that worked on me "that way", or which I found epiphanic to some degree (+ kind of epiphany I felt):

    1. Moby Dick ( What I love about it was the symbolism and "the divine in the mundane" as I like to call it; in one moment Ishmael is just a simple "story teller in the tavern", but an old sailor telling about his voyages. But in some moments there's this striking wisdom and beauty, and truth in his words, weirdly timeless truths that speak to me deeply, for example:

“Queequeg was a native of Kokovoko, an island far away to the West and South. It is not down in any map; true places never are.”

You cannot hide the soul. Through all his unearthly tattooings, I thought I saw the traces of a simple honest heart; and in his large, deep eyes, fiery black and bold, there seemed tokens of a spirit that would dare a thousand devils."

Simply put: though it was about whaling in general, in truth it wasn't.

    1. Blood Meridian ( The book is somehow similar to the MB, so I'll give up the summary; long story short: "a western that is about something more than just cowboys, indians, bandits and rangers." A quote for example:

"You can find meanness in the least of creatures, but when God made man the devil was at his elbow. A creature that can do anything. Make a machine. And a machine to make the machine. And evil that can run itself a thousand years, no need to tend it.”

"The leaves shifted in a million spangles down the pale corridors and Glanton took one and turned it like a tiny fan by its stem and held it and let it fall and its perfection was not lost on him.’"

And tbh, there would be few more, but I think the post is long enough as it is now 😉
