More specifically, I want books from the perspectives of the fascists or the every day people who fell in line with them.
I know similar questions have been asked about fiction and fascism and I've read almost all of them and it seems that books around Nazis and WW2 seem to be the most commonly shared. And I get why, but it's a time period I've read a lot about and I know it's not the only example of fascism out there.
I'm not looking for nonfiction with this specific request, but I do want it to be rooted in real events. I know a lot of fantasy and sci-fi deal with fascism but thats not really what I'm looking for.
I'm a slow reader and I have ADHD so fast-paced or books that really grab your attention usually sit well with me. Or easy reads (though I'm not sure this subject matter lends itself to those). I will genuinely even take a smutty romance set against a historical fascist backdrop if one of the pair is or becomes a fascist lol.
