Asian (Korean, Japanese) dark thriller – Christmas gift

Hi, after watching Hellbound and Squid Game I really would love to read some Korean literature 2-3 best available books.

Iv got and enjoyed most of Junji Ito Horror stories, so it can be very dark, supernatural or with parts of sci-fi elements.

Its not nessessarily to be Korean, though I'd prefer it, as never read Korean book, only watched series that I'v enjoyed really a lot, I can say The Hellbound being probably best I'v ever watched, entirely different of all those gangster series etc that I'v watched previously, not that it would been bad, but this was really something else and fresh.

If there are some outstanding books of different authors than Asian, do not hesitate to recommend too.
