Ex literature grad student here. After complete grad school burnout, I’ve been in an enduring reading drought. The only thing I can reliably read is Sir Terry Pratchett’s canon, but I can’t keep rereading the same books forever.
My favorite part of those books is the really, really excellent satire and wit. I just need a really smart, sharp, insightful, and funny book. I like strong female characters if you’ve got them, but I’m not too picky.

Pratchett is a high bar to set.
It might be worth giving Jasper Fforde a go? Possibly {{Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde}}?
Maybe give Bill Bryson a look? I find he’s got a fun and witty prose that keeps me engaged while being super informative.
