I'm not looking for romance novels. Ideally philosophical nonfiction or boundary-pushing/experimental novels that ruminate on love, intimacy, sex, and/or the erotic as a concept. For nonfiction, I've read and loved The Lover's Discourse (Roland Barthes), Love's Work (Gillian Rose), The Art of Loving (Erich Fromm), and Annie Ernaux. Fiction, I've enjoyed I Love Dick (Chris Kraus), Modern Love (Costance DeJong), All Fours (Miranda July), Mary Gaitskill. Hoping for some out of the box recs; philosophy & litfic preferred. Thank you!
