I would like to ask if anyone has reading suggestions of any kind (can be books/short stories/essays/fiction or non-fiction) that include evocative descriptions of the interplay of light and shadow and/or Japanese aesthetics (how they are expressed in traditional commonplace objects and structures, such as ancient Japanese houses, pottery, paintings, etc.) similar to Junichiro Tanizaki's essay, "In Praise of Shadows"?
Similarly, I would also like to ask for reading recommendations that vividly capture the process of making tea or other similar drinks, and/or even just on singular aspects such as the rising of steam, soft whisper of a kettle, the rustling of a tea whisk, etc…
Thank you in advance!
