im looking for some adult fantasy recommendations that dont have any/minimal romance in the main plot. i dont mind if side characters are romantic with each other though, im just a bit burnt out on romance books.
it would also be preferable if there wasnt any sexual assault in the book as well, as thats a particularly triggering topic for me. thanks in advance!

If you’re open to very long books, my favorite is [The Hands of the Emperor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/af2bba9c-8f41-4a3e-b87a-8532a44ccb67) by Victoria Goddard. It’s a beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world, with a heavy focus on platonic relationships.
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch is a great fantasy crime novel about a group of thieves who pull off con jobs on their city’s nobility. There’s no romance, but there is the best bromance in fantasy. I can’t remember if there’s any sexual assault, though. Certainly nothing prominent enough that I recall it.
