I'm looking for books where someone or a group of people get sent back to the past or get stranded on a planet with medieval or earlier technology. I don't really care if what strands them is some unexplained phenomena, some deity, magic, advanced aliens, science gone wrong, or whatever. I just enjoy books about people from modern or futuristic societies falling far down the technological ladder and struggling to survive.
The books like this that I've enjoyed are
- SM Stirling's Nantucket series
- Arturo Sandus by Peter Rhodan
- Tom series by Stephen Mathews
- Destiny's Crucible by Olan Thorensen
Other books in this same vein are Earth's Eulogy, The Sword of Jupiter, Shard Event, & Cast in Time.
In the Tom books, he doesn't build up some giant empire or get the technology up to modern standards. So just quietly improving the standard of living is enough for me if that's the book you find yourself recommending. Thank
