Help! My boss asked me for a book recommendation and I’m totally unsure what to recommend her as I’m not sure her tastes would align with mine …. so I seek the advice of reddit. I think it would be slightly odd to suggest anything with a central romance theme or other inappropriate topics. She is F40, the founder of my company, and a scientist. Any suggestions? Hopefully something that would draw her in.

She might be using this as a way to get to know you. But I’m sure this group can come up with something appropriate – maybe the most highbrow of the genre you like.
For instance, if you like trashy romance, maybe a less well known Bronte or Austen. If you like fantasy, maybe something like Naomi Novik’s Temeraire series.
