So to give out my own suggestion I'd say it's either Palace of Dreams, Cemetery Boys or The Little Prince. All three books blew me away at some point and I'd like to read more of this sort, any recommendations are welcome, genre doesn't matter to me at all, however if its sad or has a sad ending, please inform me because I need to be in the right mental state to read that.
I typically like all genres and my favourite manga are a good example of that.
They're MHA, Hetalia, Naruto, anything by Junji Ito, Ouran Highschool Host Club, Sailor Moon and that one manga I read as a kid that I can't remember the name of but it was extremely tragic and took place in a fictional WW1 scenario.
