So my family routinely does a Secret Santa every year and this year I was paired up with the newest member of the family – my brother in law’s girlfriend who I don’t that well yet. She’s a big reader so I got her a nice book-related gift and I want to pair it with a book. I looked up her Goodreads and the following are some of the examples of the kinds of books she's read recently:

    • Fourth Wing (The Empyrean, #1)
    • Iron Flame (The Empyrean, #2)
    • The Housemaid
    • Stay Awake
    • The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
    • Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow
    • Chain of Thorns (The Last Hours, #3)
    • Legendborn (The Legendborn Cycle, #1)
    • The Red Palace
    • SPY x FAMILY 1
    • The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
    • A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3.5)

I’d like to get her something similar to what she usually reads but perhaps broadening her horizons a little bit, so any suggestions that are similar or that someone with her tastes might like are welcome even if they're a different genre etc. Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

I would get her another Taylor Jenkins Reid book, either Daisy Jones & the Six or Malibu Rising. They’re set in the same universe as Evelyn Hugo.

    2. I know this isn’t what you’re looking for, but…I think it’d be safe to assume she doesn’t know you that well either. What are some of your favorite books? Is there one in particular you find yourself wanting to recommend to everyone? If so, get a nice copy of that. Write a short inscription with a brief explanation of why it’s one of your favorites. Ex. Maybe you love Crying in H Mart and you write an inscription saying that you hope she loves it because it made you laugh, cry, and attempt to make some delicious Korean food.

Or- does she have anything on her “want to read” list on Goodreads?

Or…She looks like she has some interest in suspense, mystery, and thrillers- I would recommend- Strange Sally Diamond, The Woman in the Library, or Fellside.
