Hey all, I’d like to read more about America and how it’s gotten to the point it has. Not that it’s ever been a particularly outstanding country due to, well, our entire history, but we’re obviously at a point where we’re basically an oligarchy and I’m trying to expand my knowledge and understanding. I prefer something that doesn’t read exactly like a history book but has a storyline and plot feel to it, if that makes sense. Just looking to be more well versed in regard to where we’re heading. Thanks 🙂

Noam Chomsky’s many books address aspects of this.
