I am inclined towards history and other non-fictions books from past couple of years but want to explore other geners. Going to a book fair tommorow, can you suggest me books that you would want everyone to read.
Would historical fiction count? I keep recommending Conn Iggulden’s Athenian series ( starts with Gates of Athens, then Protector) and the masterpiece that is Steven Pressfield’s Gates of Fire. Those can be read in that order to form a chronological series, then The Lion, followed by Empire by Iggulden, and finished with Pressfield’s other notable work Tides of War.
I would actually recommend listening to Pressfield’s books in audiobook form narrated by George Guidall, but always seek the unabridged recordings.

I, Claudius?

I think Tom Holland (not the actor). He is an English Author and historian who writes some cracking historical fiction novels. He sounds right up your alley.
