    Welcome readers,

The year is almost done but before we go we want to hear how your year in reading went! How many books did you read? Which was your favorite? Did you complete your reading resolution for the year? Whatever your year in reading looked like we want to hear about!

    Thank you and enjoy!

I read fewer books than I wanted to — a busy year of work. Surprisingly, I found myself rereading a few favorite books and enjoying them most of all. 1984 and Crime and Punishment were two rereads that I particularly enjoyed. I’m hoping to read more this coming year.

I read 14 books this year not including rereads. Proud I exceeded my one a month goal. Finally dove into the A Court Of Thorns and Rose’s series and finished it and was actually pleasantly surprised. As a 34yo male I could’ve gone without the sex view points from a 20yo girl, but the rest of the books had good structure and were very enjoyable. Ending out the year rereading one of my all time favorites The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

    3. My resolution was to read more books inspired by myths from around the world, here are my top 5 from this year!

      1. The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter (African mythology)

      2. The Sword of Kaigen by M.L. Wang (East Asian influences)

      3. She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan (Chinese history & myth)

      4. The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty (Middle Eastern folklore)

      5. The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (Chinese xianxia)

I’d love more recs with mythological or cultural inspirations for next year!
