Listened to teacher read this in middle school, didn't pay attention to the first half but loved the second half and haven't found it since. Part I remember, protagonist got mauled by bear, lost horrifically, graphically ate live mouse for energy. Think he was sentenced to live on an island and fend for himself for a while, had to take ice baths each morning and take a large rock up a mountain each day?
It's been years and I don't think I can find it myself with barely half the plot. Could yall help pls? <3
