Desperate for book suggestions! I’ve rated only a few book five stars this year and would love another one to end the year. These are all authors I already knew I loved (other than Meg Mason), so would love other author/book suggestions that feel similar to these:
- Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde — reread of one of my all-time favorites. I love Jasper Fforde and will obviously be reading the sequel this week since I just got it from the library!
- Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason — it just felt so realistic and pretty funny. Just love the way she writes
- Starter Villain by John Scalzi — hilarious. Loved every second and definitely have more John Scalzi to read.
- Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy — I just love the way she writes too. Also loved Migrations, but not quite as much as this one. Looking forward to her new book coming out soon.
- Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson — hilarious and beautifully written
I also love mystery/thrillers, but it’s hard to get a five star for those. The ones I really liked this year were Playing Nice by JP Delaney, All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham, None of this is True by Lisa Jewell, On a Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass, Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz, the Lake House by Kate Morton, Everyone in my Family has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson, and The Quiet Tenant by Clemence Michallon.
