My all-time favorite audiobooks are Circe and Braiding Sweetgrass because of the beautiful writing style and the calming, pleasant voice of the narrators.
I care more about writing style and character depth than plot. I want something I can sink into, something emotional and poingant and possibly a little dark. (I love dark books, but I'm wanting something a bit lighter this winter season.) Maybe something that feels like a fairytale.
Beautiful narration is a must. I have extremely picky when it comes to narration – I'd like something that feels more natural as opposed to performative or a "newscaster" type voice.
