Hey everyone I am writing this as I really battle with sitting down and reading a book. It is so challenging for me, every second that I spend reading a book feels like an aeon. My mind refuses to dial in and engage with the material. My scattered focus leaves me frustrated and disconnects me from literature as a whole.
What puzzles me is that I can read Reddit stories and scroll through other forums with ease. So why is it so hard for me to have the same experience with books?
I just feel so left out to be honest. A lot of my friends read (notably manga) and we bonded over that. I just want to be able to relate with them like I was once able too and build a good habit as a bonus. Thanks in advance!

I think when people say they are having trouble reading.. it’s because they have not found the right book. I think find something that will really hook you in
Social media is designed for quick, dopamine-triggering content, which lowers your attention span over time.
Attention, like everything else, needs to be trained.
Start small and smart: begin with shorter books or novellas. Set an alarm for 10 minutes, find a quiet, comfortable spot, and put your phone in another room. Establish a specific reading time, perhaps right before bed.
