Please suggest me a magic fantasy book that fits the following:

• Standalone book, no series
• Has well written female main character(s)
• Very little romance (unless wlw romance, then more is ok)
• Ideally has fae, dragons, elves, phoenix or similar
• No paranormal or horror type books please

My favourite series as a kid were the Inheritance Cycle and Spiderwick. Have recently finished reading Priory of the Orange Tree.
