I'm looking for books that attempt to depict the world of intelligence and espionage realistically. No superhumans feats and silenced guns, just intelligent and adaptable people operating in the heavy beaurocracy of Intelligence agencies.

Ideally books that explore themes like loneliness, the dehumanising nature of the job, the psychological damage of people working in that field, constantly having to manipulate, lie, live fake lives, and abandon everything behind at a whim.

It can be fiction or non-fiction.

I've just finished most of John Le Carre's novel. I've been thinking of picking up The Reluctant Spy by John Kiriakou.
