basically I like fantasy especially when in relation to magic rather than maybe creatures, and in combination with a sort of light romance that’s not the sole purpose of the book, just something featured that the character is going through. examples from what I’ve found so far:

Give Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson a try. Great “hard” magic system and very very minor romantic subplot. And it’s great and I love the series.
