This book has me gripped and I’m only 50/60 pages into it and I have that feeling where you just don’t want to put it down. Very impressed!

I’ve never read any of these and I think I’ve made a slight error by not reading the trilogy first!? If this is anything to go by though I’ll be speed reading them throughout January.

    1. I just finished Sharp Ends this morning but have been going in order. Although it’s good, Best Served Cold is my least favorite apart from Sharp Ends which is just short stories, so that’s a good sign for you in my opinion. I would start with The Blade Itself next and continue in order from there but if you like the writing style in BSC you’re going to like them all. Gritty character development and awesome story lines all woven together intricately. I can’t put them down either.

You didn’t mess up in my opinion.

    2. You’re in for such a treat! *Best Served Cold* is a fantastic entry into the First Law world, even if you haven’t read the original trilogy. Joe Abercrombie’s standalone books are great because they work on their own, but once you dive into the trilogy, you’ll see how everything ties together in such a satisfying way. The characters, the grim humor, the twists—it’s all so good. Honestly, if you’re loving this one, you’re going to fly through the trilogy. Buckle up, it only gets better!

    3. I finished the 8 book of his this year… amazing series. The first trilogy does an amazing job of setting up the rest but didn’t feel required.

    4. I came to read his stuff very late. Which made me happy that I didn’t have to wait for any of the trilogies to be published.
